‘Thank you all for hourning my impromptu invitation,’ Oga Mba appreciated Aunty Ifeoma and Martha for coming to see him.

‘I hope all is well?,’ Aunty Ifeoma had to ask. ‘Because the urgency of this call got me worried. I was even thinking Martha had done something wrong,’ she stated.

‘No, Martha has done nothing. I am the one that summoned you all here,’ he paused. ‘I called to inform you all that I and my family are relocating to Canada. We are moving tomorrow. So that is why I called to let you all know,’ Oga Mba said.

‘Wow! What a good news. And I am really happy for you all for this great move. May God grant you all a journey of mercy,’ Aunty Ofeoma said, honestly.

‘Mrs. Ifeoma, we are really grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to know Martha. She has been a wonderful servant to us. And never for one day I regretted ever knowing her. She’s very truthful, hardworking and intelligent. In fact, she has been a blessing to us all in this familyhood. And it would be a great evil against God and humanity if we had left the country without settling her after these years with us,’ he paused, staring at his wife. She signaled him to speak up. ‘On behalf of me and my family, I am using that shop and all the goods inside to settle Martha. I have paid for five years’ rent for her already. So, as from today henceforth, that shop belongs to her,’ Oga Mba announced.

The whole thing sounded like a joke in their ears. It was as if Oga Mba was pulling their legs. They could not believe it.

Just then, the two of them spreaded themselves on the floor in appreciation. They were very much grateful. As they poured baskets full of thanks onto Oga Mba and his family.
