“Yeah was lost in my paintings. How did you get in?” She asked leading me to the couch too.
“Spare keys.” She said swaying the keys in the air.
“Danny this is Delilah, Delilah, Danny.” She introduced as we shock hands.
“Hi.” I said and she smiled widely.
“He is handsome. That was so fast Nikky.” She said looking at Nikky.
“What was so fast?” We chorused looking at her.
“Making Friends to the extent of bringing them home. You need to be careful here.” She said standing up.
“I needed to make sure she is safe, that’s why I followed her home.” I said and she nodded.
“I am the only one that can really protect her you know. I am the one assigned to look over her.” She said and I nodded.
“Sorry but this isn’t a job for me. It’s the right thing to do. She left the shop late, couldn’t leave her on her own.” I said.
“Danny is right. Can we just forget about this? Am starving.” Nikky said and I nodded.
“Am starving too.” I replied.
“Enjoy. I will be on my way out now. See you tomorrow Nikky.” She said but Nikky stopped her.
“Delilah can you do me the favor of not telling Peter I had a male visitor?” She asked and she smriked.
“Why shouldn’t he know?” She asked and she sighed.
“I will tell him myself.” She said and she scoffed.
“Okay. See you tomorrow.” She said looking at me before walking out of the house.
“I don’t think Peter should know about me at all. Don’t want eyes around me here.” I said and she smiled.
“That’s why you ran away the other day?” She asked and I laughed.
“Yes. I was expecting tons of questions. And I don’t have the answers for them now.” I said and she sighed.
“I understand. I just said that to shut her up. I ain’t saying anything to Peter. He is the jealous type too.” She said walking to the kitchen and I nodded.
“To he honest, that Delilah looks very suspicious.” I said sighing.
“Because she smokes?” She asked.
“Not that. I just don’t think she should be the one watching you. She sounds like you are a commodity to be kept.” I said and she looked at me.
“Danny.” She called looking hurt.
“Am sorry for putting it that way. I just need to keep you safe.” I said and she nodded.
“I will be fine Danny.” She said and I smiled.
“I will be here when you need someone to talk to.” I said and she smiled.
“That’s so sweet of you Danny. I will surely contact you when I should.” She said.
“And make sure you don’t go anywhere with that Lady except you have a trusted person going with you.” I added.
“You are the only trusted person I have here.” She said.
“Then If am not with you, I don’t expect you going anywhere other than the shop and house. Just be on a safe side.” I said and she nodded.
