NEXT DAY~ SKYLINE CORPORATIONS
Itβs been a hella busy day for Maxwell, and there has been no rest since he arrived, from one work to another.
He left his table once again and rushed to the photocopying machine to make more copies of another document.
He made eight, but when he got back to his seat, he remembered he was told to make tenβ¦
βFkβ he muttered, rushing back to make more.
He took the ten into Jemimaβs office immediately, dropping them on her desk in a file.
βHereβ he said, and she looked up.
He started leaving as she checked them out.
βI asked for twentyβ she suddenly said, and he turned back.
βYou clearly said ten, my ears are still workingβ he said.
βSoβ¦ now you wonβt make it?β She said, and he sighed before coming back to take one copy.
He left the office, and she smiled knowingly.
βItβs just getting started, Maxwellβ
Maxwell got back to his desk and met Lina waiting already.
βManager Lina?β
βYour signature is needed hereβ she replied, giving him some documents.
βOhβ he replied, picking a pen to sign the secretaryβs column.
βHere tooβ she gave him another one, and he signed.
βYouβre sweatingβ Lina said.
βIβm fineβ he replied and went back to the photocopying machine.
βIs boss knowingly doing this to him?β Lina muttered as she walked back to her office.
Maxwell made another ten photocopies, and a staff brought invoice papers again.
βThis has to be submitted to the general manager for her signature before you get boss to sign it, then scan it and have is distributed to the directorsβ she said.
βGeneral manager? You mean Miss Tatiana?β He replied, and the lady nodded with a smile.
βSure, but be careful though, sheβs worseβ she whispered and winked before leaving.
βGawdβ Maxwell muttered and took the ten copies into Jemimaβs office.
He dropped them on her desk, and she smiled before giving him two more files.
βThe first one contains the list of things you need to change in this office before you leave today.
And the second one contains the names of directors you have to make sure attends the meeting by 5, dunno how youβre gonna do itβ she said bossily.
Maxwell dropped the files immediately. βYouβre doing this on purpose, arenβt you?β He said, looking pissed
βSo? Youβd fight me?β She smirked.
βJemima!β He shouted furiously, and she spranged up.
βItβs miss Jemima! Iβm four years older, kiddoβ she said angrily.
Maxwell was about to reply again when the door opened to reveal Sloane.
She came in with Miguel and Francesca.
βMum!β Francesca smiled cheerfully.
βWhatβs happening?β Jemima muttered.
βI went to pick Miguel in school actually, then Francesca insisted that I bring her here, she refused to follow her driver home, she said she misses you so I had no choiceβ Sloane replied.
βTake her back, this instant!β Jemima shouted, and Maxwell frowned.
Whatβs going on?
βMum, canβt I stay with you for a while?β Francesca said gently.
βAnd I said no! Go back home!β Jemima snapped angrily.
βJemima stop this already!β Sloane said.
βItβs not even one, you brought your Miguel too? Take them outta my sight!β Jemima shouted, and Francesca began crying.
βGo home!β Jemima shouted.
βSheβs your daughter! Stop shouting at her!β Maxwell shouted as his anger got the best of him.
He couldnβt stand and watch the mistreatment anymore.
βAnd who said you could intervene!β Jemima shouted back, coming out of her desk.
She walked fast to him, and just like yesterday, she raised her hand to slap him, but he caught the hand again, holding it so tight as their eyes met again.
βYou said it last night that you like people who donβt take trash.
I donβt take it, and you should know by now β¦ that Iβd never allow you to sI.ap me, ever!β He spat, holding her wrist tighter, so much that it hurts.
βLet me go! Maxwellβ Jemima wriggled in pains.
βPlease donβt hurt my mummy!!!β Francesca cried out.
