???? Cacophonous Melody Episode Twenty Three: ????
Tracy began to hear the voice, it was so loud and clear, yet only audible to her ears alone. She fought so hard to shut out the voice, to tell herself that it was all big her imagination, but the voice was there, so real andso clear.
????Oh oh oh, the tales have remained untold, and the story unheard????
????The world is watching, and the spirits are waiting. The things we do when no man is watching, is all but an open secret, because in the long run, we’re all going there ????
The song began again, and she was doing her best to shut her mouth, to keep herself from singing; thereby making her name so scrunched up that Bruce began to look at her with concerns.
Uloma began to dance on the ceiling, her head rolling ahead of her, as he continued to chase it, singing in her sonorous and grieving voice.
Tracy tried to close her eyes, to keep herself from seeing her, she did her best to keep her mind blocked to the song that now seemed so loud in her ears, but she got tapped by the very one she thought wouldn’t hear her sing or react to Uloma’s tôrments.
“Babes? Are you okay?” her husband asked her, tapping and shaking her at the same time.
She opened her eyes, and shut them tightly again because as soon as she opened her eyes, Uloma brought her blood stained teeth so close to her face, snarling in the ugliest kind of way.
Bruce continued to talk, but Tracy wasn’t hearing a thing he was saying, because Uloma was screaming fearful things into her ears.
A scream escaped her throàt, no matter how much she tried to hold it down.
She was sweating all over, and her heart was pounding heavily as she tried with every ounce of her strength to remain conscious.
“When we try to cage the one who had been gagged and so wickedly kïlled… oh what a sabotage…
“You tie me down for a few days, force me to remain in the shadows, with the hopes of rescinding to the air and make a thing of the past, what must go on?
“Oh the soul of my brother, and the generations unborn of my lover, called to a halt! What a great injustice! What a terrible misgiving for the destinies truncated!” Uloma’s voice spoke into her ears, making her cringe in fear and frustràtion.
“Go away!” Tracy screàmed without knowing that she was kicking wildly and shouting, but Uloma continued to speak.
“I have only come dear Tracy, and thankfully, you’re not bearing a cûrsed seed that shuts me up for a whole generation, so we are in for a rollercoaster rideeeeeeee!” the voice said, Tracy struck her hands out in panic, hitting Bruce squarely on his face.
It happened that Bruce was trying to pull her up, because she had been squirming and acting all strange, more like those little demôns depicted in home videos, and the time he bent over her, coincided with when she tried to hit Uloma off her face.
He watched her shut her eyes so tightly as if something was scaring her, and when she kept screàming and being so strange, he tried to pull her up.
Tracy flinched at his touch, and had her eyes flying open involuntarily, only to see Uloma’s blood stained face hovering over hers.
Her hand punched out instantly and instinctively, and hit Bruce on his nose.
She must have hit with so much feàr and frustràtion, because Bruce yelled in pains, as a part of his nose ridge got the greatest impact, resulting in an instant nose blêêding.
Was it the bleeding from Bruce’s nose? Or could Uloma have simply finished her job for the night? Because as soon as Bruce cupped his nose with his hand and stepped away from Tracy, Uloma went away, leaving Tracy in a completely conscious state.
“Oh my God! Bruce, is this happening again? You’re blêêding Bruce!” Tracy cried frantically, rushing to his sides.
Bruce looked at her, his heart processing what he had just witnessed, and his entire being petrified at the meaning he was getting from what he had just witnessed.
“Do you want to tell me what all that was about? You were literally dancing and twisting like a demôn possessed being. Is it true what they said that I don’t know what I’m going into?
“Is there something you’re not telling me?” Bruce asked his wife, still afraid to let her hand touch him.
Tracy began to cry, noticing how Bruce seemed so afraid of her, and was practically moving away, each time she tried to get closer to him to explain things to him.
“I knew it was going to be like this. I told you Bruce! I warned you about choosing to be with me, when I was yet to understand what all this was about.
“You came to the shrine and witnessed first hand, what Ozonge tried to do, because of this cursè, yet you swore to be by my sides.
“But of course, I knew you were going to be this way, after seeing Uloma frùstrate me” Tracy said, sounding as devastated as she was.
“Wait a minute Tracy, is this still about the Uloma shît? I thought the curse was broken when I made you mine?” Bruce asked her, looking truly confused.
She stood up, looked at him, and made to walk away, but Bruce stood up and got in front of her quickly.
“Come on babes, you need to talk to me, and make me understand.
“Fine, I shouldn’t have acted so afraid, but my love, I was afraid. I just don’t know why it felt as if you were going to transform into something hideous, as you continued twisting and squirming” he told her.
Tracy wiped the tears on her face, trying to make them stop rolling down, but she just couldn’t.
“I understand how you feel Bruce, I would be afraid myself, if I was in your shoes.
“And this is why I really never wanted us together, when I was still under the cursè” Tracy said.
“But, didn’t the cuse get broken when I made you my woman, as against the plans of the evïl Ozonge?” Bruce asked.
“There was no mention of the cursè getting broken. From what Ozonge said, Uloma cûrsed Onyema’s lineage, and tôrmented her daughter until she went to the shrine to seek Ozonge’s son’s help. The help was to control the level of tôrments, not to make it go away.
“Meanwhile, the late Ozonge impregnated Onyema in the course of her stay in the shrine for the number of days she gave herself to him, as payment for the charm that put Uloma in trouble.
“So the new chief Priest was actually a brother to Onyema’s daughter. And Uloma’s cursè of them committing their own share of incèst, like Onyema made her do, started from there.
“Her tôrments is said to only leave Onyema’s descendants, after that one had gone to the shrine to commit incèst and conceive a seed of the incestûous act, who is billed to carry on the cursè.
“So, if I had been deflowered by Ozonge, just like his father did to my mother, then I would have conceived a cûrsed seed, thereby satisfying Uloma’s vengeful spirit, for my generation.
“But now that there has been a twist in the pattern, I really do not know what to expect.
“That is why I wanted to dië in the shrine. I wanted the cursè to end with me, because if I do not have a cûrsed seed to carry it on, there won’t be anyone else for Uloma to tôrment” Tracy said, completely broken.
“Oh baby, I’m truly sorry. I guess I didn’t truly understand it all, and that’s because I never gave you the chance to explain this way.
“You’re not dyïng my love. In fact, you have just started living, because going forward, it’s you and I against that unforgiving spirit.
“Tomorrow, you’ll see a doctor to rule out the possibility that it’s just hallucinations.
“But if it’s truly like you have said it is, then, it’s time to let Uloma know that you’re now Bruce’s wife, and the mother of his unborn children” he told her, sounding quite tough for someone that was having a hard time keeping up with the pàins on his back
“Sounds so good to hear, until she comes in the night, and my husband is looking at me like someone that has seen a ghōst!” Tracy retorted.
“Come on baby! Anyone could have acted the way I did. I have heard people call you a wïtch too often, and my subconsciousness pulled up so much memories and worries, when I saw you acting that way.
“Believe me baby, it’s going to be alright” he told her, and pulled her to himself.
They went back to bed that night, and Bruce did his best to keep his hurting back from his wife’s knowledge because he didn’t want to compound her worries.
“I already know what to do about this wound. I just hope it doesn’t truly have a spiritual undertone” he told himself, as he tried to coax her to sleep.
