When Bruce got home that night, his wife had already made dinner, and he was so fast about taking a refreshing shower before he returned to the dining table to join her.
While they ate, he told her about how his day went, carefully chose to keep things that would make her get really emotional till after their dinner.
.
βAre you being serious with me now? A man was pants down with another woman, his best friend’s ex, while his family and his wifeβs family members waited for him on his wedding day?β Tracy asked in surprise.
βYouβre mistaken my love. I am not Drake’s best friend. And I’m surprised that Drake knew before you that Iβm not longer his friend, how much more his best friend.
βYou know better than anyone that Samantha means nothing to me. But for Drake to so easily abandon the woman he has always known in the manner heβs done it, I very well canβt call him a friend any more because we no longer share common beliefs and way of lifeβ Bruce told his wife, a frown on his face.
βErm thatβs not so correct honey. Thereβs no love lost between Drake and I, that you know.
βBut if you act so rashly now, it will send a wrong message, making it seem like youβre offended that heβs with Samantha
βPlease do not cut ties with him for now. Just let things be for now, and Iβm sure everything will take itβs natural course in due timeβ Tracy advised her husband, while they sat in the sitting room.
They talked for a really long while, arguing and agreeing, comparing situations and making jokes, before they found themselves engrossed in each otherβs arms, looking into each otherβs eyes, as though they were but a new couple.
Bruce had been convinced to ensure that whatever was going on between Drake and Samantha wasn’t the reason she’d severe his relationship with Drake.
But with that said, he was seeing the need to cement another relationship; the one with the only woman he loves, and the one, in whose eyes, he could see his happiness.
As the intensity grew between them, a potent magnetism emanated, drawing them closer with an inevitable force.
In that heated moment, the air practically crackled with unbridled passion. Bruce’s strong, yet tender hands found their way delicately to her cheeks, pulling her in, their eyes locked with an electrifying connection that sent a shiver down Tracyβs spine.
Finally, their lips collided in a fiery union, a fusion of desire and yearning that set their souls ablaze, a spectator would have imagined that Bruce was kissing her for the first time.
Their mouths danced urgently, tongues expertly intertwining, exploring each other’s secrets with insatiable fervor.
βI did myself so much favour to have built my woman this much!β Bruce told himself, as the right amount adrenaline began to make itβs way to appropriate quarters, and causing the bulge to grow right where it was needed.
Time stood still as heat radiated, their bodies pressed tightly against each other, consumed by an unyielding hungerthat never seemed to want, no matter how much of each other they have had.
Every touch, every breath exchanged between them only fueled their insatiable craving for more, intensifying the mosaic of sensations coursing through their veins.
In that intoxicating, lingering moment, everything else faded away, leaving only the pure, unadulterated heat of their passion, entwining their fates in a blissful embrace.
βOh baby, I need you so bΓ£dβ Bruce muttered in a really husky tone as it could be, when he heard her beg him to love her.
He began to tug at her shorts, and was just about to make an entrance when the doorbell chimed.
The two love birds froze in their paths, with Bruce scrunching up his face in a frown.
βWho could that be at this time of the night?β Miguel asked nobody in particular.
And just as if she heard her son ask who it was, Mrs. Ikenga screamed his sonβs name as she hit the doorbell switch again.
Tracy and her husband looked at each other in shock, as they recognized the voice from the other side of the door.
βWhatβs my mother doing here by this time of the night?β Bruce panicked and swung the door open at once, afraid that something was terribly wrong
βWhat brings you here at this time of the night mama?β Bruce asked his mother in confusion, wondering why she was just standing at the door without moving.
He followed her line of sight and realized that she was looking at the bulge in the short briefs he was able to put on before he rushed to the door, and he nearly passed out in embarrassment.
βCome in mother, I wasβ¦β Bruce stuttered in shame, but his mother helped him complete the sentence.
βYou were with the witch right over there! Say no more Bruce, I have eyes, and I can see that you were almost consumed by the serpent before I got here.
βBut not to worry son, I came prepared, because I had been reliably informed of the presence of this witch here, before I cameβ Mrs. Ikenga told her son, and pushed past him to get inside.
βMama, I hope for everyoneβs sake that the one youβre calling a serpent isnβt the woman I fought the living and the dead to marry?
βMama, I hope you were not referring to my wife when you called someone a wΓ―tch?β Bruce shrieked, the moment he realized that his mother wasnβt going to give peace a chance.
He had always known that his mother was gong to be dramatic when she found out about Tracy, but never did he imagine that she was going to be that hard on them.
βBruce, please let me know what youβll do because if this low class, crude and demΓ΄n possessed girl is who youβre calling wife, then we are undoubtedly talking about the same person!β his mother snorted, making tears begin to flow freely from Tracyβs eyes.
Bruce opened his mouth to speak, but Tracy was already talking in a very shaky and pain laden voice.
βMama, I understand that you feel concerned about what happened when my husbandβ¦β she was saying, when Mrs. Ikenga cut her short with a scream.
βMay thunder destroy those lips with which you called me mama. Who is your mama?
βMay the gods consume you and your coven of witches for calling my son your husbandβ Mrs Ikenga screamed on top of her lungs, lurching towards Tracy.
βErm okay, thatβs it mama. You have overstayed your welcome.
βYes mama. You have certainly been in my house longer than you should be, which is obviously why you do not remember that a visitor doesnβt go assaulting someone in her own house
βYou have to leave nowβ Bruce snapped angrily, pulling his wife behind him.
His veins throbbed on his forehead, and his fingers balled in a fist, in obvious Γ£nger as he stood defiantly in front of his mother.
Mrs. Ikenga froze suddenly, and tried to look at her son again.
βDid you just speak to me?β Mrs. Ikenga asked her son in askance.
βYes mama, you are leaving my house this moment because you apparently shouldnβt be under same roof with a wΓ―tchβ Bruce screΓ med in uncontrollable Γ£nger.
βNo no no honey, you canβt do that!β Tracy shouted, pulling her husbandβs arm to call his attention.
βOh please stop pretending. Isnβt this what you want? Are you telling me that your first assignment in my sonβs life is different from pulling him away from the humans that can save him from your witchcraftβ Mrs Ikenga flared.
βSweetheart, whether you like it or not, one thing that wonβt happen is for you to pass a night under same roof with my mother
Not today, not any time soonβ Bruce told his wife matter-of-factly.
βAnd if I am going to remain your wife, then mama isnβt leaving this house this nightβ Tracy replied, wiping the tears on her face, as she continued to imagine how things will never be okay between her and her mother in-law, if she allowed her husband do what he was trying to do.
βWell, thatβs fineβ Bruce said, then pulled her with him into their bedroom, where he quickly got into a casual outfit, picked up his car key and began to make his way out of the house, pulling her with him.
His mother was so flabbergasted at the version of Bruce she was seeing, and could only watch as he pulled his wife out of the house, got into his car, and drove off.
