Seun was so happy when he heard that his mother had agreed to be with his father, he had been dead worried as to how his mother wouldn’t be lonely once he got married. He had seen cases where some women who had no one living with them developed mental illness and he didn’t want that for his mother.

He had to have a conversation with his father to do everything possible to make his mother a happy woman. The wedding was just among family and friends, Mr. Kosoko paid Mrs. Ashabi’s bride price to her Paternal Uncles. At first, Mrs. Ashabi didn’t want it to be paid to them because they forsook her after the death of her maternal grandmother but she decided to let go of any offense so that she could be happy.

Seun and Clara’s union was peaceful and blissful. Despite some arguments that arise between them sometimes, the couple were intentional about having a home for Jesus.

Seun didn’t allow his wife to work in the office with him even when his father offered her a higher position, he simply supported her catering business and saw to the fact that it flourished. And in no time, her catering business began to boom.

God being so good blessed the couple with a pregnancy three months after their wedding. Seun was the one to first detect that his wife was with a child. Clara who was busy working on the wedding cake of a client was too busy to notice it. After delivering the wedding cake, Clara came home that day looking tired and weak, she complained of being sick which was surprising to Seun as she had been treated for malaria three weeks ago.

Seun took a deep look at his wife and discovered that she wasn’t sick of malaria but she was already carrying his first child. He then told her to go for a pregnancy test, Clara went for the test and was confirmed a month pregnant. The couple’s joy knew no bounds, they then began to prepare for the arrival of their bundle of joy.

Seun: Babe, your food is ready.

Clara: (looked at the food and then began to cry) There is no crayfish in my food.

Seun: But, you never told me to add crayfish.

Clara: My baby wants crayfish.

Seun: Look here Clara, you’ve got to eat it like that, I am tired.

Clara: I can’t eat it like that.

While the cashier was attending to the customer standing before them, they suddenly heard the shout of a man. He was screaming at his wife and calling her names. Clara was disturbed, she left her husband to pay the cashier while she went to see what was happening, getting to the scene, she saw Mike slap a woman who was holding a baby.

He was about to give her another slap when Clara ordered him to stop or spend his night in the police cell. Mike stopped to look at the person who dared to stop him from dealing with his wife the way he wanted. As he turned in her direction, he was shocked to come face to face with Clara, Clara was also surprised to see that Mike was the one beating his wife. At that point, she couldn’t help but thank God who delivered her from Mike, it was obvious that Mike was never a true child of God because if he had, he would never have thought of raising his hands on his wife.

Clara, who was angry spoke sense into Mike and made him see reasons why he had no right to hit his wife, guess what he said, she was his property and he had the right to treat her the way he wanted. With that, Mike dragged his wife away, to the car not minding the fact that she was carrying a baby. With tears running through her face, Clara went back to her husband who had already paid the cashier, and went home singing praises to God who delivered her from a wife-beater.

Some months later, the couple welcomed a baby boy who brought so much joy into their family. God being with them, gave them exceeding joy in every area of their lives. Clara looked at all that happened and she concluded that accepting God’s choice for one’s life is always the best decision anyone can make.

Mrs. Ashabi also got pregnant and gave birth to another baby boy whom she named Oluwapamilerinayo- God has caused me to laugh in joyfulness. She experienced joy all the days of her life.
