???? He Is Not My Spec Episode Seven:
I became a shadow of myself, I wept for days with no one to comfort me, My mom who I felt would understand me told me to learn how to live with my husband. She went on to say my intolerance sent my husband away from me, I was more heartbroken the day I heard that from my mom.
I became lonely just seven months after my wedding, I had no one to talk to because even my brothers became tired of my constant complaints and cries, They advised me to become humble and loving so that my husband would change his attitude towards me.
I threw myself into work to help me get better but it didn’t help. I had money and properties but no joy, I had connections but no satisfaction. At a point, I began to contemplate suicide, I felt ending it would take away the emptiness I felt. I decided to go to a store close to my house to get rat poison after work one day, I felt that would be a fast and easy way to die. I had my plans mapped out as I had written suicide letters to everyone in my life appreciating them for their contributions to my death.
That day, on my way to the store, I collided with a lady making all her goods fall to the ground. Of course, I was clearly at fault because I was lost in thought. I made to apologize only to discover the lady was Ranti, my University roommate and friend, I screamed her name and burst into tears the moment she embraced me.
She quickly paid for her goods and took me to her car where she asked me to spill what was troubling me. At that time, from my look, one could judge that something was wrong with me but I refused to open up to anyone as I didn’t want to become a laughing stock at work. Without a waste of time, I told Ranti everything about my marriage and how it crumbled before clocking a year. Ranti, who was a very emotional person had tears running down her face while I told her the story of my marriage.
Ranti: (wiping her tears) OMG! This is just so terrible, look at how my baby girl was treated. This wouldn’t have happened if my cell phone wasn’t stolen.
Adesuwa: It isn’t your fault, I allowed my flesh to rule me. I threw a godfearing man away for a rich and well-connected man
Ranti: It’s okay, Adesuwa. You won’t kill yourself, I am here now and you will surely overcome this. First, we will go over to your apartment, pick up some of your things, and come over to my place. Don’t worry, my husband is a very understanding person, I will put a call through to him now and explain things to him.
Me: Oh my friend! What would I have done without you?
Ranti: It is well with you dear, Let’s get going before it gets dark.
That was how I started living with Ranti and her husband, they took their time to teach me the word of God and all I need to know about marriage. I came back to God and realized that the Holy Spirit warned me severely about Olamide but I was spiritually insensitive to His words. To help me heal, Ranti and her husband advised I get another apartment so I won’t be taunted by the memories of Olamide.
Gradually, I began to get over Olamide’s betrayal, I no longer saw any reason to kill myself as there was more to achieve in life. I became happy again but I still had this desire to be with my husband. On numerous occasions, I tried to place a call to Olamide it never went through and when it eventually went through, Sandra asked me to let her man be.
Forgetting Olamide and the memories we had together wasn’t easy but for my sanity, I had to let go trusting God to show me mercy someday.
PRESENT
I didn’t realize I was weeping till Ranti gave me a face towel and then drew me into a warm embrace, It was at that point, that I also realized that she was weeping, eighty percent of the congregation was also in tears. Ranti took over from me and called an altar call, surprisingly, the number of those that got saved that day was over a hundred.
For the first time in my life, I had this uncommon joy in me.
CLARA’S P.O.V
Mrs. Chika was picking the beans she wanted to use for beanballs when her daughter walked into the house with her face looking reddish and swollen, it was obvious her daughter had been crying. To worsen the situation, Chika mumbled a greeting and walked into her room not caring to answer any of her mother’s questions. Surprised by her daughter’s action, Mrs. Chika went after her daughter but before she could meet up with Clara, the door was banged in her face.
