The doctor boldly walked up to the little family of Lucian and they all stood up with eagerness to know the outcomes of the Transplant.

“It’s a success” he said and the family jumped and hugged each other in a deep relieving breath.

The doctor smiled at the relief and happiness they were expressing.

“Thanks doctor” Mr McCall appreciated the doctor for making it possible.

“You’re welcome sir. I’m really glad I and the surgeons was able to make it a success despite the challenges” the doctor said and they all smiled brightly.

“Can we see them now?” Mrs Aurora requested and the doctor looked into his wristwatch.

“What about her? Why isn’t she awake yet?” Jane looked at the doctor.

“Her body is still recovering and I must say, he has a strong and healthy kidney” the doctor gazed at were Lucian laid and Jane gazed there too.

“He did it all for love” she muttered and the doctor looked at her.

“I was going to say something about that” the doctor said, and Jane looked at him.

“About what?” She asked eagerly.

The doctor exhaled.

“Back in the theater when the transplant was to take place, something happened” he paused, his eyes flashing back at the scene.

“What happened?” Jane asked. She was wondering what could have possibly happened.

“His heart started failing” he said and her eyes widened.

The doctor gazed at Lucian then at Jane.

“We tried jump starting his heart but it didn’t work. We were all scared but yet summoned the courage. We tried and tried relentlessly but nothing worked” the doctor said and he gazed at Hope.

She was still unconscious.

“So what happened next?” Suspense filled in her eyes.

The doctor sighed deeply.

“When it seemed to be over something we never experienced before happened” he paused and looks into Jane’s eyes.

The suspense was choking.

“His hands reached out and held hers. I and the other surgeons paused to take a look at their hands and then, all of a sudden, his heart started responding. His heart began thumping slowly then grew into a heartbeat. A very strong heart beast” The doctor vivid flashed back as he explained the scene to her.

Jane smiled brightly at the doctor.

“That’s what happens when you have two perfectly matched couples. Her name is Hope and he found Love in hope” this statement sounded more like a proverb and he smiled so comforting.

“Tender Trifles of love” the doctor muttered.

“What does that mean?” Jane asked.

“It means, their tender feelings and caring ca me in line with trifles of some mean improper actions and the connected it to Love” the doctor broke down the meaning to Jane and she smiled.

Jane remembered how she felt met Hope in the girls washroom crying.

“She will be up soon but for the main time, she needs to rest” the doctor said.

“And I’ll send a nurse it to watch her” the doctor added.

“No. I and my family will be here” Jane inquired.

“Call me when she’s awake” the doctor smiled.

He opened the glass doors and left.

Jane sighed.

“Why isn’t she awake yet?” Lucian managed to ask.

“Her body needs time to recover and adapt to the new kidney” Jane replied firmly.

Hope’s eyes slowly opened as a soft groan escaped her lips.

Her eyes stared at the ceiling not knowing where she was and how she got to this unfamiliar place.

“She’s awake” Jane saw her eyes and they all rushed to the bed where she he laid.

Lucian held her hand and her body responded to his delicate light touch.

He smiled when their eyes locked.

“Where I’m I?” She managed to ask.

“At the hospital” he smiled brightly at her. Seeing her cute Grey eyes again was the only thing that could captivate and enthralled him.

She chuckled softly.

“I feel… I feel…”

“You feel weak and need to lay down” he gently made her rest her head back on the pillow when she tried sitting up.

Immediately the doctor walked in and her gazed traveled at him as he moved closer to her.

“Miss, how are you feeling?” The doctor asked and she glanced at Lucian.

“A little light-headed” she pressed and the doctor smiled.

“It won’t last long” he said as he injected a syringe in her arms.

She winced alittle.

“Sorry, if it hurts” the doctor said softly and she smiled.

The doctor withdrew out the syringe and steps backward.

“What happened to me?” She muttered and everyone looked at Lucian.

Her eyes slowly riverted and fixed on Lucian.

“I brought you here after the unidentified explosion in the car garage. When I found you, you were almost dead. The doctor and nurses attended to you and the information he gave shattered us all” Lucian said.

“What information?” Hope asked a little curious and Lucian sighed.

“You lost a kidney” she gasp and her eyes widened.

“You were going to die soon if there wasn’t a kidney transplant for you” he continued, his eyes becomes watery.

“I couldn’t seat back and watch you die, at least not stand there and watch the one person I found true love in” his eyes welled up in tears.

The air filled with emotions and they all flowed with it – Jane sniffed, tears steaming down her cheeks. Mr and Mrs McCall sniffling too as well as the doctor and Hope.

The moment tugs at their heartstrings and they were all at the state of pourine out their tears.

“I donated my one of my kidneys just for you to live again… even if it means not living as long as we should but aside that I want to live the remaining days of my life with you” he expressed his heart filled love and emotions to her.

Tears rolled down their cheeks.

“You did this all for love” Hope said, her voice so soft and passionate.

“Yes” he replied.

“Promise me one thing, Hope” he said and she looked deeply into his eyes.

He moved his face closer to hers.

“Never ever, I promise” she said as their face grew closer bringing in their lips.

They kissed and immediately her father as well as Harlan and Jeffrey rushed in.
