???? Just One Mistake Episode Episode Thirteen:
Dele made for his mother’s bed in a bid to let her confirm that he wasn’t a ghost; as he got closer to his mother, she fainted due to shock. Dele and his sisters had to quickly rush her to the hospital, and on getting to the hospital, the doctor informed Dele that a poisonous substance had been found in his mother’s system. Dele inquired from his immediate younger sister about what their mother had been taking, and she made it known to him that their mother had been very sick and had been taking some drugs which Gomez got from their family doctor
At that instant, Dele connected the dot; Gomez had been feeding his mother with poison in the name of the medication, which was killing their mother slowly. He became afraid that their family doctor could be working with his Uncle. Dele told the doctor to ensure that every residue of the poison was flushed out of his mother’s system and she should be given the necessary treatment she needed.
After speaking with the doctor, Dele went to the reception to have a conversation with his sisters.
Dele: Uncle tried to kill me; Gomez is working for him to bring our family down; they want to eliminate all of us.
Laide: come on, big bro. You can’t speak ill of Gomez; he had been there for us all this while. Why didn’t you show face when you didn’t die?
Tola: Shut up, there. Don’t mind her, Dele. Your little sister is in love with Gomez
Dele: I didn’t show face because I needed to look for a way to bring the culprits down without them suspecting anything. Meanwhile, I will play a record for you, and I believe that would convince Laide.
After listening to the record, Laide broke down in tears. She couldn’t believe that the man she had loved all these years was an enemy of their family. She had fallen in love with him since he was in high school, but he never looked at her until a year ago when he professed love to her. She couldn’t hide her excitement when he finally noticed her, and even when her elder sister warned her about the relationship, she turned a deaf ear.
Laide: Big bro, I never knew he was an enemy. I have loved him for years
Tola: I told her to give Dennis a chance, but she was blinded by her obsession for Gomez; I had always known that there was something off about him. Recently, he had been making some secret calls.
Dele: Hmm, he is currently in police custody, and I will do everything possible to ensure he gets thirty years in imprisonment. I just need Mom to be fine because I need to bring my wife out of prison.
Laide: But big bro, we buried you.
Dele: you didn’t bury me; it was the other passenger in the cab that was buried.
Tola: what a world! See how Dad was nice to Uncle; how can he decide to pay us this way? Gomez even surprised me; we took me from the dungeon and made him somebody, yet, all he could repay us with is stabbing us in the back. Poor Bimbo
Laide: I am happy I haven’t slept with Gomez; he almost lured me into sleeping with him two weeks ago. I promised him that we would have our first sex after our engagement. Who would believe he raped Bimbo? Bimbo must be so mad at us; she spent five years behind bars for a crime she knew nothing about.
Dele: Human! I learned a lot from this situation; trust no man and before you bring anyone into your life, seek the Holy Spirit’s permission.
Tola: what is mom’s offense that Gomez had to be poisoning her?
While they were conversing, The Doctor came to inform Dele that his mother was stable and asking for her children. The trio went into their mother’s ward and couldn’t stop placing kisses on her forehead. Dele sat on the bed beside his mother, assuring her that he wasn’t a ghost. He narrated all that had happened, and the poor woman couldn’t stop crying; she didn’t believe that those they had called family friends were the enemies of herr family. She was further convinced that they were enemies after listening to the record that Dele played to her hearing.
Mrs. Olaloye: I have offended Bimbo greatly. Gomez was the one who told me Bimbo sent some boys to kill you so that you won’t divorce her. He said you came to his house that night and told him that she lied to you about being a virgin, and when you threatened to divorce her, she also threatened to finish you
Dele: Haa! Bimbo didn’t say anything like that; she didn’t tell me about the rape because she was afraid I wouldn’t marry her again. Mom, Gomez raped her.
Tola: but what was Bimbo’s offense? She was sweet to us all. Even Gomez said she would make a great wife.
Dele: Mom, have you met my son?
Mrs. Olaloye: Son?? How??
Tola: Was Bimbo pregnant?
Dele: She discovered she was pregnant after being jailed, and she carried the pregnancy in prison.
Mrs. Olaloye: Jesus! What have I done to myself? Will she ever forgive me?
Dele: Bimbo isn’t a hard person; we just need to get her out of prison; my son needs his mother
Mrs. Olaloye: I will do everything within my power to bring her out.
