As the person watching Daisy smirked, another female figure rushed to her.
“Hey, we need to leave here, I saw Darren coming towards us,” the unknown person said urgently.
The smirking figure replied,
“Let him come. I’m slow poison, and I’m sure he can’t get to me so quickly. But I can’t underestimate him. He still likes this Daisy girl after all this while. I just want to teach her a lesson, let me watch her suffer.”
The other unknown person countered,
“We need to leave. You’ve watched her cry out loud enough. Darren must not see us together. Godfather doesn’t want your secret known to him.”
The smirking figure nodded,
“You’re right, but Daisy should know Darren belongs to me. This isn’t the end.” With that, the two unknown figures quickly walked away.
Darren arrived at the poolside, screamed
“Daisy!”
as he saw her drowning. Without hesitation, he jumped into the pool, swimming quickly to reach her. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her out of the water, but she was unconscious.
Darren tapped Daisy’s cheeks slowly
, “Daisy, Daisy, please wake up.” But Daisy didn’t move a muscle. He crossed his hands and pressed her chest carefully, but still, there was no response.
“I’m so sorry, wifey, I have to do this to save you,” he muttered, bringing his mouth close to her lips. He pressed his lips softly against hers, performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. After a while, Daisy suddenly coughed out water, and Darren helped her sit up.
“Are… are you okay?” Darren asked
“Daren…” Daisy muttered, her voice weak. “You… you saved me.”
“Don’t talk too much, just tell me if you’re fine. Should I take you to your hostel so you won’t catch a cold? It can affect your voice and…” Daisy interrupted him immediately
“Hey, you talk too much! Just take me to my hostel already!”
Darren chuckled, “You should be thanking me, you know. Not yelling and ordering me around.”
Daisy hit his head, and Darren winced, “Ouch! Why are you hitting me, huh?”
Daisy had a flashback, and a sharp pain shot through her head. “Why does that sound so familiar? Why do I feel like I’ve heard this voice before? And why am I feeling this way?” she thought, her mind racing.
She felt the pain again and screamed, “Arghhhhhhh!”
Darren quickly held her, “Wifey, what’s wrong?”
Daisy gasped, “My… my head hurts.”
Darren hugged her tightly, “Calm down, D. Calm down.”
After a while, she calmed down and said, “Hey, carry me.”
Darren raised an eyebrow, “What?”
Daisy demanded, “Carry me now!!”
Darren rolled his eyes and scooped her up in his arms, carrying her in a bridal style. Daisy gazed at his face, taking in his features. “Wow, he’s truly handsome… than Ricky,” she thought, her eyes lingering on his eyes, nose, and lips.
Darren noticed her staring and smiled, “Hey, stop staring at me, okay? I know I’m handsome.”
Daisy rolled her eyes, “Dream on.”
Darren chuckled and continued carrying her, his smile still plastered on his face.
Darren carried Daisy to her room and carefully placed her on the bed.
“You should have a warm bath, you need it, so it won’t affect your voice,” Darren said.
“I can’t have a bath while you’re here,” Daisy said, rolling her eyes.
“You can’t? You mean you… you need my help with that, I can help you, you know. In fact, I will wash you well.”Darren said and smirked
“Hey, shut up, you stupid playboy, you think so dirty, you are so bad,” Daisy muttered, and Darren rolled his eyes.
“You wanted me to be this way, now you’re complaining,” Darren said.
“Hey, you weirdo, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Daisy said, and Darren smirked.
“But if you finally remember that fact, I will do whatever I want with you, deal or no deal.” Darren said.
“That’s if you’re not a weirdo, okay deal. The day I remember what you, weirdo, keep mumbling about, I will let you have your way.” Daisy said, and Darren laughed.
“And what’s funny here?” Daisy asked.
“You said I’m bad, but you’re the bad one here. Have my way with you? You sound so dirty, really bad wifey.” Darren said, smiling.
“Uhmmm, I… I… don’t know what you’re talking about, just get me hot tea, okay.” Daisy said. “Hey, I’m not your errand boy, go get it yourself,” Darren said.
“But… but… I…” Daisy said. “You?” Darren said, smirking.
Immediately, Barbie, Sage, Dove, Lovie, and Elle burst in. Barbie ran to the bed and hugged Daisy immediately.
“Sweetheart, are you okay?” She muttered.
“How did you find out?” Daisy muttered.
“I told one of the girls,” Darren said, and Barbie nodded.
“Yes, he informed one of us, we split to look for you. He messaged Elle, and we came running here.”
“But how did this happen?” Sage asked, and Daisy explained everything.
“How can you just follow an unknown number, Daisy?” Barbie said.
“I thought you all were in trouble,” Daisy said.
“Please, please be careful,” Barbie said, looking at Lovie.
“I’m sure she’s related to this,” Barbie thought.
Darren looked at all the girls carefully and smirked. “Trying to prove you’re smart, huh?” He thought.
“I should leave,” Darren said.
“Thank you, Darren,” Barbie said.
“Hey, don’t thank him,” Daisy said, and Darren rolled his eyes.
“Bye, wifey,” Darren said and walked out.
“He’s so cute, right?” Barbie said.
“Maybe,” Daisy replied. “He’s handsome,” Daisy added and Barbie laughed.
“Uhmmm, Barbie muttered, and Daisy cut in immediately.
“Don’t even think about it,” Daisy laughed. “But one of the girls clenched her fist tightly and glared at Daisy.
“You bitch,” she whispered under her breath. But no one noticed.
Darren drove his bike to his secret house, and the gate locked automatically behind him. He walked to a small door, which led to a computer scan. He typed in his password, and the computer welcomed him. A small elevator then took him underground to his mansion, which was surprisingly spacious and didn’t resemble an underground house at all.
Mrs. Sara was in the sitting room watching a movie but immediately got up when she saw Darren
“Darren, you’re home?” she asked.
“Yes, aunty, something actually happened,” Darren said, explaining everything that had occurred.
“Oh my goodness, do you know who did that to her?” Mrs. Sara asked.
“Yes, aunt, I know who Slow Poison is now. She made a mistake and left me a clue. How dare she! She’s so good and cute to be the one, aunty. She’s actually among the girls,” Darren said.
“Among the girls? You mean among Daisy’s friends?” Mrs. Sara asked.
“Yes, aunt, I came home to check some things and upgrade some things here. I need to be prepared ahead; anything can happen soon. Liam is ready to kill Daisy, but with that, I’m sure he has a lame plan. There will be a break at school after the competition. I just found out there will be a two-month break. Everyone will be going back to their houses for the holiday. And Daisy is not safe in Liam’s house,” Darren said.
“Oh, this is bad; what are you going to do?” Mrs. Sara asked.
“You’ll find out soon, aunt. I have a plan. That’s exactly why I’m here,” Darren said.
“I’m sure you know what to do. You show off smart freak, Mrs. Sara said
“Stop being dramatic, aunty I actually found out something today. Two of Daisy’s friends are involved in this one is Slow Poison, and the other one, I guess, is just a pawn,” Darren said.
“Oh wow,” Mrs. Sara said.
“Yes, aunt, I will be working throughout the night here to work on things. And I will have to make friends with Clayton to find out more about Slow Poison,” Darren said.
“Okay, I will leave you to this. Please take care of yourself,” Mrs. Sara said, and Darren nodded slowly.
“I have just three days left before the break. I need to act quickly, Darren muttered .
