When I got to Efu’s house, I heard the sound of about three male voices coming from inside. She hadn’t told me she was going to have visitors that night. I was really surprised and vexed that she should be entertaining visitors on a night she knew we had serious business.

I knocked on the door. When she realized it was me, she came outside and told me that she had some guests and I should go and come later. I couldn’t believe it. I asked her to tell me who they were and she told me that she would do that later. I got annoyed and told her that she should forget about everything. In fact, she was on her own.

I stormed out of the compound angrily. When she realized that I was serious and was not going to come back, she followed me. I refused to attend to her. We walked for long distance. A distance almost as far as from Buea Road Park to RTC Junction, me in front and she behind, begging, before I finally decided to stop and attend to her.

She pleaded with me that those guys were her village guys and one of them was her cousin. She didn’t want to complicate things and that is why she just decided that I leave and come back later. She apologized sincerely. I could not refuse her apology. I loved her deeply. I held her hand and we headed back to her house. By the time we got there, the guys had left.

We got inside, locked the door behind and went laid on the bed.

“Please take of your clothes” I said, after a short while.
