???? Pregnant For My Husband’s Driver CHAPTER ELEVEN: ????
That day was a Sunday after service. Pastor Fred and Mama came around. Westley was already informed about the visitation, so he stayed behind.
Pastor Fred came around and met Westley in the sitting room. I started sweating profusely. My heart panted terribly. Mama hurriedly ran to me in the bedroom and tried calming me. She encouraged me to pull myself together cause of the pregnancy. I was calm. I frequented the restroom seven times in ten minutes. The cold hands of fear gripped me. Mama kindly led me to the sitting room.
“Come sit close to me, Sweetheart”. Westley beckoned on me. Mama looked at me, I looked back. Mama gestured I should go. I walked like a prisoner to the couch, j sat beside him. He threw his hand around my shoulders.
I didn’t know if I should feel loved, comforted and forgiven already or that was the last care that will ever be shown by him.
“Something brought us, Westley.” Pastor Fred spoke first. This was after a short exchange of pleasantries. Westley asked him to continue. The place was so quiet that we could hear each other’s breath.
“Adultery is a sin. The one who commits adultery is lacking sense; He who would destroy himself does, so the scripture says in proverbs 6 verse 32 to 34. For a woman to dishonour her matrimonial bed is really atrocious and God frowns at it”. Everyone listened to the pastor. I stole a gaze at Westley. I could see the wonder on his face. Still, I couldn’t see the surprise on his either.
“Your wife, Genevieve has sinned against you and has begged us to come talk to you”. The pastor paused. He looked at Westley in a consolatory manner. I quietly sneaked away from my sitting position. I stood aloof. He turned and looked at me. I was tearing already.
Westley didn’t say anything. He was just looking at the pastor, from Mama to me.
“The pregnancy your wife is carrying isn’t yours. She confided in her mother and I”. Pastor paused again.
“Please, my son, forgive Genevieve. She has done wrong!”. Mama begged and knelt.
“I know that the pregnancy isn’t mine”.
Westley said to the shock of everyone.
