As soon as he saw us, he opened the door and stepped out rushing to us “princess, are you okay?” He asked as he approached us
“is she okay?” He looked at me but I shook my head
“Who is this?” He asked looking at joe
“A friend” I said
“You brought a friend to a hospital?” He asked
“I came to help” joe said
“I was talking to Becca as you can see” Alex said
“Alex please, she’s burning, that’s the first time this happens” I said before Alex took Eve from my hands before giving joe a glare

“Bye joe! Thanks!” I said rushing to the back seat Before Alex got inside and started driving

“Im not taking her to this so called hospital like you do” Alex said

After the doctor who’s a friend of Aaron, checked Eve up, we were standing while Eve layed on the bed with her eyes closed as they put her nutritious “she’s got a virus, nothing too serious but her fever is high and it’s hardly lowering, let her stay here for few hours and we’ll see later” the doctor said
“she’l be okay right?” I asked
“don’t worry, Alex knows me well and he knows that she’ll get out of this hospital being the old Evelyn” the doctor said.
“don’t worry Becca, I believe in him” Alex said
“Thanks Doc,” Alex said as he hugged him

“It’s My job, and besides she’s my friends granddaughter, so it’s nothing, and yes your father said he’ll come soon, let me go and greet him” the doctor said as he got out and we sat in on the couch putting some space between us
“I didn’t know, it’s the first time this happens, I don’t usually take her to hospitals because her fever always goes whenever I gave her some paracetamol and as she took a shower in cold water, but when the nurse told me that her fever Isn’t lowering, I had to take her to that hospital” I said as Alex nodded
“sorry for yelling” he said
“thank you Alex,” I said
“thank you?” He asked looking at me confusedly
“for taking care of Evelyn” I said
“She’s my daughter” he replied with a shrug, as if he’s 100% sure she’s his “Our” I corrected.
“Our?” Alex said putting a small smile
“Yes, our daughter, I wouldn’t want anything to happen to her, she’s a part of me, and I love her more than anything” I said while Alex gave me a smile
“I think you should rest, I’m gonna stay awake looking at her” I said
“are you serious? You are the one who should be a sleep
Becca, do you think I don’t know thy you stay up late just to make sure Evelyn’s is really a sleep and she won’t wake up? And you wake up early and leave for work which I didn’t know about but anyways, you are the one who should rest Becca” he said
“but I can’t” I said
“what if she wakes up”
“Becca, I’l be awake, and if she woke up, I’ll tell you, stop worrying” he said as I nodded
I leaned back on the couch and closed my eyes “umm’ Becca..” Alex said making me open my eyes
“you can rest your head on my shoulder” he said quietly
“no no, it’s okay” I said
“Becca, if you slept like this, your neck will hurt you” he said
“now come”
“Alex, it’s alright” I said shaking my head
“Becca” he said before closing the distance between us, his legs touching mine before he wrapped his arm around me pulled my head to his shoulders

“Shh, sleep, you’ll wake eve up” he said Before i let out a chuckle with a smile on my face before closing my eyes
