???? The Ghost Boy And The Female Teacher Episode Fourteen: ????
Somadina led me to their house, a beautiful mansion, painted with a milky colour. Then we walked pass their house, headed to Shegu’s house. After seeing Shegu’s house, which was also a beautiful mansion, painted all gold, with the head of a lion, molded and painted beautifully on the sit-out pillars, and two full lions moulded each on top of the pillars of the gate, we headed back to Somadina’s house.
I knocked at the gate and it got opened by a gateman. He had been the gateman in Somadina’s house for years. The moment Somadina saw him, he instantly became invisible. I didn’t know how he did it but I know I became the only one seeing Somadina and the gateman wasn’t.
“Good evening sir” I greeted.
The gateman didn’t even respond. He was just looking at me and expecting me to reveal my reason of being there.
“I’m here to see Somadina’s parents” I said.
“Which of the parents? Is it his mother or his father?”
“Tell him, my Mom” Somadina told me.
“His Mom” I replied.
“Any problem?”
“Yes there is a problem; a very big problem and you have to let me in right now” I said.
“Let me go inform her first” The gateman said and shut the gate, leaving us outside. I meant, leaving me outside. Somadina was invisible anyway.
“You wouldn’t have told him there’s a problem. He will go and tell my Mom exactly what you have said now, and she would be worried” Somadina told me.
“It’s better she worry so she will believe me easily, than just making her feel normal” I said.
Few minutes later, the gateman opened the gate and let us in. I mean, let me into the mansion because I was the only one he sees, though Somadina was beside me.
Somadina’s Mom and Dad were at the sittingroom waiting anxiously for me. The moment I entered and greeted them, his Mom anxiously asked me.
“Young lady, who are you? And what is the problem you told my gateman about?”
“My name is Jacinta Ma’am. I came all the way from Abia State because your son Somadina asked me to help him…”
“My son Somadina?” The Mother interrupted, standing up with all her strength and in curiously.
“…Yes! Your son Somadina….and I can’t help him alone so I decided to come and request for your Support”
“Where is he? Where did you see him?
“He is here with me but you can’t see him because he is a ghost” I said.
His parents looked at me strangely, as though I was weird or I was speaking what doesn’t make sense. I guess, this was where they lost curiously about knowing the whereabout of Somadina, especially his Mom, because she slowly sat down and made eye contact with Somadina’s father. I can’t really tell what they thought of me and I didn’t care to know; I just continued telling them what I was telling them.
“…your Son Somadina, was a student in the school I teach in Abia State. He met me and told me that he was trapped in a coffin, inside the secret room of Shegu’s father and that I should help save his life. So I came to tell you to join me let’s go and save your son’s life”
They were still looking at me, puzzled.
“You don’t believe me?” I asked. They didn’t say anything. I turned to Somadina “Your parents didn’t believe me” I told him.
“Tell them, I only have today and tomorrow to be rescued, because, before this time a day after tomorrow, Shegu’s father will burry me and they will never see me again” Somadina said.
I told them what Somadina had said yet they didn’t believe me. I also told them how Somadina had tried to communicate his whereabouts to them and how he had troubled me to come set him free, still they didn’t believe me. They thought I made up the story and it got me really angry.
“Many people that claimed to be prophets and prophetess and men of God have defrauded us huge amount of money in the name of helping us find our son. Some came with similar story like yours, saying they hear Somadina crying for help; some said he’s still alive but in the end, nothing to show. My son is still not home. What makes you think we will buy your story? You are just another frau*dster” The Mom said.
This got me really angry because I risked my life and my job to be there, so as to save their son’s life and what I get is insults.
“Look Mr. Godwin and Mrs Juliana” I called them by their names angrily and mostly because Somadina told me their names and asked me to call them their name, that if they hear it from me, they will assume that he had told me and they will believe me. Yet the didn’t believe me.
“Whether you believe me or not, your first son: Godwin Somadina is trapped in a coffin by his best friend’s father: Shegu. And I have come from Abia State to Abuja to help save him and I will do my best to save him. You warned him to stop visiting Shegu but he went at your back and visited him and ended up being trapped in a coffin by Shegu’s father. So here is the plan I had with Somadina. By four o’clock tomorrow evening, I will go to Shegu’s house and try to rescue your son before Shegu’s father will return from work. So If you feel your son’s life is important, come and meet me in Mr. Damilola’s house. Come and help me recue your son tomorrow” I told them and left their house.
Although I had nowhere to go and sleep over against tomorrow but I left anyway. The money I brought with me was inside my bag and Somadina couldn’t appear with it the time he was appearing with me, so I had no money with me and I didn’t bother to think of going to lodge. Since I didn’t know Abuja very well, especially the estate I already am, I didn’t want to get missing so I just went to the end pillar of their gate and sat.
Night came and I ended up sleeping outside the gate of Somadina’s house. Somadina stayed with me untill midnight. Then around 1:00PM, he suddenly vanished while discussing with me and never came back, even in the morning.
