???? The Ghost Boy And The Female Teacher Episode Twenty One: ????
Did Jacinta, the female teacher survive? Was Somadina saved? Who were those people and that reverend Father that came into the secret room? Was the boy that held Jacinta truly Jeremiah? What later happened to Mr. Damilola?
I know you are curious to feed your minds with the answers to these questions. I’m also curious to know, so let’s find out together.
After my eyes closed and everything went blank on me, I can’t really tell how long it took me or how long I stayed unaware of things that happened in Mr. Damilola’s house but I know, that when I opened my eyes, I realized that I was lying on a hospital bed and Jeremiah was sited beside me, praying that God should revive me. The bed I lay, was the last bed in the female ward. It was closed to the wall and only me occupied a large space, than the other sick females who were also lying on their respective beds. The female ward was a long hall and there were about twenty female patients on my roll and another twenty female patients on the other roll, making it a total of forty patients in that ward.
The space my bed was kept, was decorated; there was a TV, air-condition and fridge for my comfort. Also, my corner smells nice too. I guess, I was admitted in a big hospital and was given a special space, as if it was a special room. The only difference was that I could see other patients and they could see me too. The person that brought me to this hospital must be a wealthy person. I thought to myself.
I coughed and Jeremiah raised his head quickly and stared into my face.
“Oh! Jaci, you’re finally awake! Oh thank God!” He said excitedly.
“Where am I, Jerry?” I asked mildly. I tried to get up but I realize my leg was entirely rapped with bandage, starting from my knee down to my big toe. And it was heavy; I couldn’t move it.
“You’re in the hospital.” Jeremiah told me as if I didn’t know that I was in a hospital. I was actually trying to find out which state I was.
“Why am I in the hospital? What happened to me? Why can’t I move my leg? Why is it heavy?” I was being so inquisitive. I looked at my left leg, being the leg I couldn’t move. It was all swellon.
“Calm down Jaci” Jeremiah held me back as I tried to get up. “You’re in the hospital because yesterday, you were discharging greenish foamy substance from your mouth; then suddenly, you fainted and didn’t wake up. Secondly, your leg started swelling up as a result of the snake bite, so we have to bring you to hospital”
“I’ve been unconscious since yesterday?” I asked.
“Yes, you were unconscious and as well running temperature, so we had to rush you to the hospital. You got me worried. And I thought I had lost you. Everyone thought you would die. But I kept praying to God to keep you alive” Jeremiah answered emotionally.
“Who are the ‘we’ that brought me to the hospital?” I asked.
“Somadina’s parents and I”
“Somadina’s parents?” I asked surprisingly.
“Yes! They were there when you fell” He answered.
“Were you the one that held me when I was falling? And was telling me not to die now?”
“Yes, I was the one”
“You were the one that came to Mr. Damilola’s house?” I asked curiously.
Jeremiah nodded.
“How? How were you able to come? How did you locate me? And who is that man on white garment and those people that entered with him. Who are they?” I asked.
“You are really being inquisitive Jaci” Jeremiah told me calmly. “Doctor said you should rest”
“No please. I want to know. Please tell me” I urged.
“Ok I will tell you everything” Jeremiah said and started to narrate.
“Remember when I was asking Somadina for the detailed address of their house and that of Shegu’s?”
“Yes I remembered”
“Well I was asking him for his address because I hand in mind to follow you. My instincts told me that the journey you were embarking on was a spiritual and deadly one. So after you left with Somadina, I wanted to start following you immediately so that I would enter the same bus with you people, but a voice in me told me to wait; that I shouldn’t enter the same bus with you and I shouldn’t go alone; my spirit told me to go invite invite a man of God to follow me.
So I decided to go inform Reverend Father Benjamin. On my way, I met him and he told me that he was as well coming to our house, that he saw a vision were you were battling with an cultist man. He asked me about you and I told him you were on your way to Abuja with a ghost boy. He exclaimed that you were about to encounter danger and we need to save you. Meanwhile, Somadina brought more money to the house.
“Are you serious?” I asked surprisingly.
“Yes. He kept bringing money often and often. Daddy’s room and your room is now filled with money. We will never go poor again” Jeremiah said.
I nodded. “No wonder Somadina keeps disappearing and appearing on our way to Abuja.” I said.
“So I took some of the money Somadina brought, and booked a flight to Abuja, for Fr. Benjamin and I…” Jeremiah continued his narration. “…I used the exact landmarks Somadina gave me to trace his house, so when we arrived Abuja, I took Fr. Benjamin to Somadina’s house and informed his parents”
“And his parents believed you?” I intruded surprisingly.
“Initially, the doubted me, but when I told them that my sister already came to Abuja and should probably be in Shegu’s house fighting for their son, they describe how you are and asked me if you were my sister and I said yes, then they told me that you already visited them and the believed me instantly. Also Fr. Benjamin spoke to them about his vision, so they quickly brought us to Shegu’s house.
“So that man on white garment is Reverend Father Benjamin?…” I asked
“Yes!” Jeremiah nodded. Reverend Father Benjamin is the parish priest in the church my family and I worship in Abia State. He is a powerful prayer warrior priest that has delivered a lot of souls for God. God has also blessed men, through him.
“…and those two persons who came in with the Reverend Father is Somadina’s parents?” I still asked. I wanted to be sure it was Somadina’s parents; I wanted to be sure that Somadina’s parents actually believed Jeremiah and brought him to Shegu’s house. I just wanted to clear my curiosity because of the ill treatment I received from them. The other two were policemen.
Jeremiah nodded, confirming that Somadina’s parents were the ones I actually saw. That moment, the door to the hospital room where I lay, opened and Somadina’s parents came in, followed by Reverend Father Benjamin.
“Oh thank goodness you are awake. We thought we had lost you” Somadina’s mother said as she rushed and hugged me.
“I told you not to worry that she will stay alive. The God I serve can not let her die” Fr. Benjamin said and made the sign of the cross on himself, saying: Thank you Jesus. Then he touched my neck, to determine my body temperature, I guess.
Somadina’s father also touched me, but on my hands and swollen leg. Then he stepped back and said:
“Thank you God for keeping her alive.”
Somadina’s Mom handed some fruits and food she bought for me to Jeremiah.
“I brought some fruits and food for you, my dear” She told me nicely. She came to my bed and sat at the edge, close to my head.
“Please sit-up my dear, so you can eat. You haven’t eaten anything since yesterday” she held my shoulder and raised me and helped me to sit-up, in the manner that made some part of my shoulder to rest on her laps.
I wondered why she was being nice to me all of a sudden. Is she feeling guilty because of how she and her husband treated me when I went to their house to tell them about saving their son? Or she is feeling grateful that I was the one who went to rescue her son and also feeling sorry for me because the serpent bit me, and that’s why I ended up in the hospital.
What happened to Somadina, was he saved? Were those people I freed from the coffins saved, including Somadina’s friend? I also wondered. I wanted to know what happened to everyone.
I wanted to asked about Somadina’s where about. I wanted to ask if he was rescued. The moment I tried to talk, that was the time Jeremiah scooped out food and started stuffing it into my mouth.
