Her eyes flew open, only to meet with the oceanic eyes of Madden.
“Master” the word came out of her mouth before she knew it, and he dropped her easily.
They both looked up to see a boiling Igor, leaning on the window with wide shocked eyes.
Madden smirked at him before motioning at Adeline.
“Move” told her, leading the way to a waiting Audi car.
They both hopped on the backseat, and she was surprised to see Loud and Jinx in the front.
Loud brought the car engines back to life, screeching as he drove them roughly away from the hotel.
Almost immediately, Andrei ran out of the hotel, right hand in his hair.
“Damn it!” He spat when he saw the car driving away already.
He rushed to another car with the aim of chasing them with that one, but Igor’s call stopped him.
He picked impatiently. “Stop! you’ll never catch up!” Igor instructed.
Andrei adamantly entered the car…
“Loud drove the car, asshole! He’s the fastest racer in the clan and you know you’ll never catch up. Quit and fuçking come up!” Igor shouted for the second time.
Andrei gave up this time, coming out of the car and slamming the door as if it’s Micheal’s neck.
He only needs to see Micheal right now, and he’d blow his head off without waiting.
He was raging so much as he went back into the hotel, meeting Igor in the messy room.
Igor dialled Sin’s line brusquely, and he picked so fast.
“I need you to hack into my laptop right now and delete every bit of info on it. Password is …. MOTHER” He worded, hesitating before saying the last word.
“You lost your laptop? You backed everything up right? Get another laptop and login with your details just spare me the stress” Sin replied tiredly.
“You fuçking skunk! It was stolen by Madden, and he mustn’t have access to what’s in it so do what I asked!” Igor slammed.
“Wait! Madd flew out too? How did he get your location? Don’t tell me it’s true that you took Micheal along. Are you daft? Micheal is too close to Madd and no matter the glitch, they won’t part! Madd trained him and you expect him to suddenly be for you? Oh Igor, this is so fuçking interesting!” Sin laughed.
The tiredness in his voice disappeared already.
“Do what I asked or I’ll kill you when I get back to Russia. I swear!” Igor threatened.
“Are you threatening me? ME?” Sin laughed again.
“Corey.” Igor suddenly said, and Sin went silent.
“I know he’s innocent. You framed him and implicated him because Trixie likes him. He’s wanted by the organization cos of you. Think about how Trixie will hate you if I tell her this” Igor continued with a defeating smile.
Sin kept up with the silence, and Igor grinned.
“Cat’s got your tongue, little brother?”
“What’s the laptop password again?” Sin asked calmly.
“MOTHER, and get it done within three minutes. Use the clan servers” Igor replied and hung up.
“Are you sure this will work? What if Death guesses your password right before three minutes?” Andrei asked.
“MOTHER? Even if Madden is a damn ghost, he won’t ever get it right, and as for Micheal…” Igor’s lips went flat, his voice embedded with hate.
“I’ll do to him exactly what Sin did to Corey.” He promised.

INSIDE THE CAR*
The Audi is still racing down the tarred road, and Madden has the laptop already.
He’s currently trying to open it, but all the password idea he has been getting, they’ve been incorrect.
“You should try calling Sin” Adeline said beside him.
“Igor probably called him already” Madden replied dryly, his eyes focused on the screen.
“But doesn’t he like you? I mean…” Adeline said.
“Sin will never chose Master over Igor” Jinx replied from the front.
“Then we should get crushed magnet and try the trick” Adeline said, and Madden suddenly remembered something.
He took off his cross necklace and removed a lid from the right hand of the cross, then from there, he blew crushed magnet into laptop.
The magnet got stuck on the keys, but six alphabets got more of the magnet.
Adeline tried joining the alphabets, but Madden was faster.
“Mother?” He smirked, clicking the word on the laptop.
The laptop unlocked, and the schedule of tomorrow’s meeting with the target is the first thing they saw.
Before they could start reading, it cleared off with every other thing on the laptop.
It became empty, and Madden threw it out through the window, scattering laptops keys across the road.
“It’s true, Sin probably helped Igor to clear it. I couldn’t read anything before it cleared” Adeline said slowly.
“They’re meeting tomorrow by 10am, at Harbor 360 Hotel top hall” Madden announced.
“You saw it before it cleared?” Adeline asked surprisingly.
“Sharp sight is a necessity in the underworld. Your death will be interesting if your eyes are slow” Madden replied, giving her a short glare before resting on the backseat, shutting his eyes.
Adeline scoffed, and Loud grinned from the front.
“How did you know about the magnet trick though? Never heard of it” He asked.
“My late mum worked at a cyber security company. I learnt one or two” Adeline replied with a hint of sadness in her voice.
“Oh…cool” Loud nodded.
“I thought Master would be the only one to come according to the mail. I wasn’t expecting you both to come with him” Adeline said.
“Master never reveals all his cards yunno? We took off immediately you guys did. We located the hotel thanks to the tracker Master planted on you. And i was the one who started the fire which took roughly ten minutes” Jinx briefed.
“Wait… Tracker? On me?” Adeline started checking herself out and was shocked when she saw it on her right leg sneaker.
She took the small device, then she looked at Madden’s face. His eyes are still closed.
When did he even plant this on her without her notice?
Must be last night at the saloon, probably the moment before he gave her the vodka bottle.

The car came to an halt, interrupting her thoughts.
She looked out of the window and was awed to see they’re in front of another hotel. Phoenix hotel.
She quickly came down and ran to the other side of the door to open it for Madden.
He stepped out and took off the leather jacket he’s wearing, then he took the door from her and slammed it with a glare.
“I didn’t ask you to” he said.
“I don’t mind” she plainly said, and he rolled eyes before entering the hotel.
Adeline scoffed secretly, and Loud’s arm landed on her shoulder.
“Man, you were awesome. I’ve never pulled that stunt before. I mean… Jumping down the window of a fifth floor with a rope.” Jinx said.
“Was awesome, can’t wait to try it out again” Adeline replied boldly.
“Aren’t you really blending with the underworld so well?” Loud said proudly.
“You can say that again” Adeline winked, and they shared a laughter as they entered the hotel.
“We should share a room, Micheal” Loud said.
“I’ll join you both. Can’t stay alone” Jinx said, but when they got to the reception, the story changed.
“There are different keys for y’all, according to Mr. Smirnov” a blonde lady they met there said.
“Different?” The three chorused, and the lady nodded with a kind smile, handing them their keys individually.
“See you guys tomorrow then” Loud grunted in dissatisfaction, entering the elevator with Jinx since their rooms are in the same floor.
Adeline waved lazily at them till the elevator closed, then she entered the second one which took her to the second floor where her room is.
Opening the door, she gasped as she stepped in only to meet Madden inside.
He’s sitting on the bed foot like a god, smoking hotly.
The smell of jaguar impregnated the room, and she felt lightheaded as she inhaled the strong smokes.
“Master? Why are you here?” She carefully asked.
“Get some sleep whenever you’re ready” he replied curtly, standing and grabbing a towel before entering the adjoining room.
Adeline stood on that same spot for minutes, trying to figure out what this means.
They’re gonna be sharing a room?
She exhaled and dissolved it as nothing, then she discovered there’s another adjoining room, meaning there are two bathrooms.
She quickly stripped herself and grabbed the second towel, wrapping it on her chest before entering that door.
Surprisingly, it’s not a bathroom, it’s a steam room!
Steam wafted through the room, shrouding her body with wet mist.
Vapor fogged everywhere, making it hard to see more than a few feet.
“Fûck” she smiled, feeling muscle-relaxed as she inhaled the sweltering steam
She missed getting warm.
She eventually took her seat on the tiled surface, but she was shocked to see Madden sitting in front of her.
The vapor must have covered him earlier.
Only the towel is wrapped on his lean waist, and his skin his body leaned back.
His eyes are on her, like he has been watching her since she came in, and that made her wonder just how sneaky he can be.
He’s a dangerous, and it only makes him more scary.
Didn’t he go in through the other door earlier? How come he’s here?
It’s only possible if there’s an inner door, and when she looked beside herself, she saw an inner door connecting the two rooms together.
“Knew it” she muttered, returning her eyes to him.
He has another cigar stick between his lips already, but it’s not lightened.
His tattoos are darker, and his eyes are a crazier shade of wild.
The tension was dense as her treacherous eyes went down to the middle of his legs, and she saw something peeking out.

She wanted to look away, but she couldn’t, and she had to pinch herself.
“Enjoying the view, Micheal?” His voice came, and she snapped out of it, tightening the towel on her chest awkwardly.
“How come you have crushed magnet in your cross necklace?” She suddenly asked.
He darted his lids before speaking…
“It’s poison. Crushed magnet is just one of the ingredients”
“Poison inside a cross necklace? You’re…
“Insane?” He raised his lids.
“No. Morally grey” she replied and stood.
“Goodnight, Master” she said and started rushing out of the room.
“I’m morally dark, not grey. You’re ruining my reputation, Addie” his thick voice came, and she looked back to see him smirking.
She eventually left wordlessly, and a little smile tugged at Madden’s lips.
It left as fast as it came though, and he rolled the steam generator button, reducing the flow before leaning back.
He can’t stand heat cos it reminds him of the stuffy basement, but there are times when he wants to really dig out the memories.
Times like now.

RUSSIA, CLAN KITCHEN*
“Maya said Micheal went to Alaska with Igor. No wonder I haven’t seen him” Angelika said.
She’s sitting on the kitchen island again while Lady Selesta prepared the compound dinner.
“You now talk with Maya? That insane lady who’s in love with knives?” Lady Selesta replied.
“Are you badmouthing me?” Maya said, entering the kitchen with crossed arms.
“Maya!” Angelika raised her arms, and Maya carried her.
“I’m saying the truth. You love your knife more than anything” Lady Selesta replied.
“True, except Madden” Maya said immediately, and Selesta smiled.
“He scares me” Angelika said.
“Really?” Maya asked.
“Yes. H looks too scary and he doesn’t smile” she replied.
Lady Selesta and Maya exchanged glances.
“When is my real mommy coming back?” Angelika talked again.
“You told her about it already?” Maya faced Selesta.
“She’s too smart for her age, and she was getting curious.” Selesta replied, and Maya held Angelika’s face.
“Your real mommy is a bîtch, so you don’t need her. Ok?”
Angelika nodded.
