“Where the fûck do you think you’re going, Micheal?”

Adeline’s insides melted like lead in a furnace, and she could feel the hot liquid streaming through her insides immediately she heard those words.

Her throat dried up, and she instantly felt like throwing her blood up.

Madden let go of her leg and lifted an arm to the sofa, supporting himself with it before standing to his tall feet.

She was still in a daze when he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her roughly out of the workroom.

“Master!” She gasped fearfully, his countenance scaring her so much as he took her down the thin corridor, into his bedroom.

He kicked the bathroom door open and dragged her inside too, taking her to the bathtub where he hit the back of her knees.

Her knees lowered, hitting the ground hard, then Madden shoved her face into the water.

She began struggling, her bones hardening as the water penetrated into her nose and ears, blocking all her senses completely.

Madden’s inhumane face remained closed and emotionless as he did the shove, not making any attempt to release her at all.

Adeline’s body stiffened just like his body did earlier, and bubbles appeared on the water surface as she began gulping it uncontrollably.

Madden even shoved it harder, and her skin began reddening.

Yet, the demons in him kept screaming in his head for him to do more.

He was at the verge of drowning her completely when the programmed red light in the bathroom came on, distracting him.

He let go of her head, and immediately Adeline’s head came back up, heavy coughs escaped her throat, and she began vomiting water, even from her ears and nose.

She shifted back on her butt, away from him before looking up to meet his lifeless eyes.

“I’m… I’m sorry” her voice barely came out as she spoke with shaky lips.

Madden squatted in front of her, and she shifted back again till her back met with the chilled wall.

She froze, her eyes set on his own.

“I knew this would happen, but the crazy thing is that I wasn’t expecting it this early” he said, his voice spiralling.

“I lost my necklace in Alaska, and I was so sure it was during the fight. I contacted the CEO to send me the footage of the hallway, and through it, I saw you taking it. I’ve been expecting you to give it back, or maybe you’d try to murder me with it. Disappointedly, you chose the second one, and I knew the poison was in the water by merely smelling it. I chose to drink it because just like medicines have their expiration date, my poison has one too. It expired two days ago, meaning the components are now too weak to kill, it can only harm” he tilted his head as he spoke.

“I’m sorry… Trixie deceived me, and i didn’t think. I…. I’m sorry” Adeline pleaded again and tried to hold his arm…

“You touch me, I’ll kill you” his conc voice made her hand drop.

“Master…

“I thought you’d have learnt a lot about how this world works after spending two months here, but I was wrong. I am Madden Smirnov, I am not an Orlov. Trixie, Sin, and Igor are the motherfuckin’ Orlovs. I and Maya belong to Klara, and our father is dead!” Madden yelled.

“I didn’t know… No one told me” she shook her head.

“Did you ask questions? You have Jinx and Loud. If you asked then they’d have told you Corey was the closest to me. He was my bodyguard before he betrayed the clan and escaped!” He spat again.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t think it through” she sniffled.

She has promised never to let out tears from her eyes in front of him.

Madden stood from his squatting position, spitting out blood.

Adeline scrambled to her feet too, spitting out water.

“Get out” Madden said.

“Master I’m sorry. I …

“Get. Out.” He said firmly, his tone chillier.

She quickly ran out of the room, not stopping to look back for once till she was eventually out of the manor.

She went down the mountain, finally letting out the tears.

They were falling hotly as she ran through the silent dark forest.

Will he ever forgive her now?

She wiped the tears before she got back to the compound though, and she head straight for Trixie’s suite.

She barged in, and Trixie stood from the couch like she has been waiting for her return.

“The look in your eyes tells me you did something stupid. How was it? Did you really think Madden was Corey?” She asked mockingly.

Adeline didn’t halt till she got to her and threw a full-fisted punch at her face.

Trixie staggered back in utter shock, then made to punch her back, but her shot arm hurts like hell, so the punch was weak.

Adeline felt nothing cos she returned it to her face immediately, and Trixie’s lips bursted.

“Bloody hell” Trixie muttered when she saw the blood.

She picked her arrow and bow from the stool, but before she could set the two, Adeline snatched them from her and broke the bow, throwing it away before slapping her, hard.

Trixie’s nose bled this time.

“Son of a slut!!!” She yelled, coming fully loaded for her.

She grabbed Adeline by the shoulder and began pushing her to the wall, but Adeline changed the game before they got there.

She turned Trixie to the wall instead, slamming her back on the surface before slapping her for the second time.

“Arhhh!!” Trixie cried, and Adeline scoffed.

If Trixie should report her to the house of Orlovs it if any of the guards should see this scene, she’d be killed gruesomely by The Pakhan, but she doesn’t even care.

She’s too filled with rage to care!

“Don’t ever drag me into your family complications again, you hear me? Never! You think it’s funny to play with my feelings? I hate it when my feelings gets toyed with you bratty bîtch!” She yelled, slapping Trixie for the third time.

Sin came in at that same moment, and his eyes widened when he saw what’s going on.

He rushed to the scene, taking Adeline away from Trixie before punching her in the mouth.

Adeline felt nothing from the punch too. It’s like her anger built immunity against punch or something.

She returned the punch times two, and Sin’s lips bursted too, then she grabbed him by the collar, throwing him off.

Sin flew across the couch and crashed on the wall behind it, going down with a loud groan.

Trixie’s awed eyes didn’t leave Adeline throughout, wondering how he got this strong.

Her punches are poisonous and her energy is too high.

“You’re dead!” Sin stood suddenly.

His head was bleeding as he retrieved his gun, but Adeline brought out her own too. They aimed for each other at once.

“No!” Trixie quickly came between them.

“No no no….stop it” she said like a plead, but none was ready to back off.

“No one will pull the trigger in my house, so stop it!” Trixie shouted in another attempt to stop them.

Sin’s hand went down first, then Adeline followed suit, breathing heavily.

“You can hate my master all you want, but I repeat… Don’t ever mess with me again. Don’t ever!” She threatened, pushing Sin out of the way before storming out of the suite.

Sin released a heavy stressed breath, and Trixie did same as they faced each other.

“What did you do to him?” Sin asked, going closer to her.

“He has a beef with Corey, and he was so determined to kill him. He accidentally saw him in my necklace, and she inquired. I told her it was Madden, that he underwent facial reconstructive surgery” she explained.

“You shouldn’t have” Sin said.

“I didn’t want to, but he pissed me off by shooting us! Can’t you see he doesn’t trust us? I’ve always seen him as my brother! I’ll chose him over Igor any fuçking day, but he dislikes us and it’s only getting worse!” She complained.

Sin’s mind went to the Alaska incident when he wiped the laptop for Igor…

“He has every right to not trust us” he muttered, and Trixie looked up.

“What next now?” She asked slowly, her arms falling at her sides.

“You should forget about Corey, cos it’s obvious he won’t live, now that Madden and Micheal are after him” he said, pulling her into a hug.

Trixie hugged him back, resting her head on his shoulder.

“I wish father would show us our mother at least” she said.

“One day” Sin replied, stroking her hair.

MAYA’S SUITE*

Maya fell asleep immediately her body touched the bed thirty minutes ago, but Andrei didn’t leave the room.

He stayed in the herbalist-like space, staring around.

Apart from the burning candles, there are some voodoo dolls on the table, all looking scary.

He took one of them and sighed, giving it a long watch before looking back at sleeping Maya.

Her stabbed arm is already bandaged. He had treated it himself.

His eyes caught her bed edge, and he slowly went there.

There are several bloody bandages there, and everything was used on her.

He packed them and brought them to the burner in the living room.

He threw them in, and the fire burned them up, illuminating the room more.

He might not know much about this fuçked up family, but at least he knows Maya and Madden are like the prince and princess of hell.

Erik took them in together with Klara after their father’s death, but Erik never wanted them to outshine his own kids at all.

For that reason, Maya was mandated to stay in her room always, while Madden stayed at the basement.

While living in loneliness, the two kids saw what they shouldn’t have seen, but whatever they saw till now is a secret between them.

No one knows except those two, and maybe that’s why they’re both experiencing madness.

Andrei sighed out, taking another look at Maya.

He went closer and covered her properly with the duvet, then he left the room.

A minute after, Maya’s eyes opened slowly, and she slightly smiled, kissing her bandaged arm.

She was never asleep.

TRAINING GROUND*

Adeline went there immediately she left Trixie’s suite.

She didn’t even bother to change her wet clothes, she just strapped on her gloves then faced the punching bag.

She has been punching wildly since an hour ago, and she hasn’t stopped.

She was sweating like a pig, and her breaths aren’t amplified at all, then her limbs are aching so bad that they might just fall out of her body.

Yet, she kept punching, not ready to stop cos she kept getting the echo of Madden’s voice in her head….

When he told her to “Get Out”

She couldn’t get his disappointed expression off her head as she punched like a criminal, and it’s killing.

From another angle at the ground, Jinx and Loud were staring at her with confused looks on their faces.

“What is wrong with him?” Loud muttered.

“I better stop him before he kills himself” Jinx replied, rushing over to her.

She got to Adeline and pulled her away from the bag, but Adeline pushed her back.

“Let go!” She glared and made to continue punching the bag, but Loud blocked her this time.

“I dunno what’s going on, but get back to your senses. You’ve been punching the bag for over one hour!” He shouted unintentionally, and Adeline sniffled, looking from one to the other.

“Master is mad at me” she spoke up.

“Again?” They chorused.

Adeline sniffled for the second time…

“Who’s Corey?” She asked.

“His name was on the documents at Alaska. He was the best assassin in this clan and also Death’s bodyguard. They were so close before he betrayed the clan and escaped. He’s wanted by the organization” Jinx explained.

“And Master is not an Orlov at all?” She asked again.

“Obviously. He’s the son of the former Pakhan, Ivan Smirnov. Him and Maya” Loud explained, and Adeline dipped her fingers in her hair.

“What exactly happened?” Jinx asked worriedly.

Adeline didn’t reply before rushing down the place, leaving him there.

“He’s making me worried” Loud muttered.

“Me too” Jinx added.

“Me too” Another voice said, and they both turned to see Malik behind them, crossing his arms and backing the wall of the storeroom.

“Shut the hell up” Loud glared at him.

“You’re not wanted anywhere around” Jinx added, and they both left.

Malik sighed, carrying his body away from the wall.

“I’m only waiting for Poe’s awakening.” He smiled.

Adeline tried contacting Kimberly, but she didn’t see her anywhere in the compound.

She even went to her apartment maybe she’d get lucky and see her coming out or going in, but no sign of Kimberly.

She’d have texted her, but it’s dangerous since their calls and messages are being monitored in here.

She gave up on Kimberly and went back to the mountains.

The manor is locked, so she had to wait outside.

She sat on one of the white stones, folding her legs up and expecting him to come out, but even after two hours, Madden didn’t show.

Even when snowflakes began falling, she didn’t move an inch from the stone.

Her clothes is still wet from the tub water, and that played a large part in fuelling her cold, but she still didn’t change position.

She was already shaking even before 12 midnight.

She stayed there, but Madden never came out.
