“Joseph, I do not agree completely with Amarachi that you disappointed us by getting carried away, after holding on for so long.

“But I’ll agree with her that it almost appears to take me more time trying to let you know that Nkem is truly pregnant than it took me to convince you to get you to marry a new wife.
“Joe, it’s making me truly upset to know that after what Mandy and Farida did to me in your house, and after her attempt to take my life in the hospital, you still think I have to spend ages to make you believe the things she told me when she felt I wasn’t going to be alive to tell the story.
“What would I benefit from making you believe that Farida’s child isn’t yours, when you know how much I want grandchildren from you?

“Leave me alone!” Nkem screamed, brushing his hands off, but mama and Amarachi, walked out of the sitting room, after Amara told her brother what she had to say.
“Brother, mama didn’t woo her for you. Go back to how it was in the beginning and find a way to bring us our wife back.
“You created the mess, clean it off yourself, and don’t try to keep hiding behind Mama’s back” she said and bounced out.
Joe felt totally helpless, looking at his mother and sister walk away, and at Nkem who was also getting up to leave.
